If you manage your properties in Hostaway, you can connect directly to Villa Tracker. Your listings, calendars, pricing and reservations synchronise automatically. There is nothing to install, nothing to maintain, and Hostaway remains your source of truth.

Once connected, Villa Tracker handles onboarding, listing enrichment, destination mapping and calendar synchronisation, with nightly reconciliation as a second layer of accuracy.

How to Connect Hostaway

    Request your connection link

    Complete the form on this page. We email you a personal connection link, which begins https://dashboard.villatracker.com/connect/

    Generate your API credentials

    In Hostaway, open the Marketplace, search for Villa Tracker, select Connect, then Create. Copy your Account ID and API secret key.

    Paste them into your link

    Open the connection link, choose the Log in to Hostaway tab, paste both values and select Connect to Hostaway.

    Sync and go live

    Your listings import automatically. We review them against our criteria and confirm once each property is live.

Before You Begin

  • An active Hostaway account containing the listings you want to distribute.
  • Your personal Villa Tracker connection link. Links are single-use and time-limited.

Step by step

  1. Sign in to Hostaway at dashboard.hostaway.com.
  2. Go to Marketplace and search for Villa Tracker.
  3. Select Connect, then Create to generate the API key. Hostaway shows an Account ID (a number, for example 40160) and an API secret key. Copy both and save them somewhere secure — the secret key is displayed only once.
  4. Open the connection link we sent you. On the Log in to Hostaway tab, paste your Account ID and API secret key.
  5. Select Connect to Hostaway. We validate the credentials directly with Hostaway; once they clear you will see Connected ✓ and can close the page.

What Happens Next

  • Your listings import automatically and refresh nightly.
  • Availability and rates stay in sync, typically within a few minutes of any change in Hostaway.
  • Confirmed Villa Tracker reservations are written back to Hostaway, so your calendar cannot double-book.
  • We never delete or unlist anything in your Hostaway account.

Your API secret is validated with Hostaway and then stored encrypted; it is never displayed again, and you can revoke it at any time from Settings → Hostaway API in Hostaway.

Hostaway and Villa Tracker: Common Questions

Check that the Account ID contains numbers only and that the secret key has no trailing spaces. If you did not copy the secret in time, generate a new API key in Hostaway and try again.

Connection links are single-use and time-limited. Email tech@smilinghouse.ch and we will send you a fresh one.

Revoke the API key in Hostaway, or email tech@smilinghouse.ch and we will handle it. Your listings in Hostaway are untouched either way.

Yes. You continue to manage rates and availability in Hostaway, and they stay in sync with Villa Tracker. Because we are request-to-book by default, every reservation is confirmed by you.

We are open to properties from chic city apartments to ultra-luxury estates. The consistent requirement is quality and a nightly rate from $500. Our team reviews each property and confirms the outcome, so you always know where each one stands.

There is no fee to apply and no development cost to connect. Villa Tracker works on commission, and our team walks you through the commercial terms before anything goes live.

That is expected. You load net rates in Hostaway; the price a travel professional sees includes our margin and their commission. Your payout is the net rate you set.
