Connect Hostaway to Villa Tracker

If you manage your properties in Hostaway, you can now connect directly to Villa Tracker. Your listings, calendars, pricing and reservations synchronise automatically. There is nothing to install, nothing to maintain, and Hostaway remains your source of truth.

Why connect

Villa Tracker is a luxury villa distribution platform that sells only to the trade. Rather than competing for mass-market travellers on the OTAs, your properties are placed in front of professionals who source on behalf of high-end clients:

Once connected, Villa Tracker handles onboarding, listing enrichment, destination mapping and calendar synchronisation, with nightly reconciliation as a second layer of accuracy. You retain full control through a dedicated portal.

Before you begin

You will need an active Hostaway account containing the listings you want to distribute, and the connection link we emailed you, which looks like https://dashboard.villatracker.com/connect/…

No link, or it has expired? Email tech@smilinghouse.ch for a fresh one.

Step 1 — Generate your Hostaway API credentials

1. Sign in to Hostaway at dashboard.hostaway.com.
2. Go to Marketplace and search for Villa Tracker.
3. Select Connect, then Create to generate the API key.

Hostaway will show an Account ID (a number, for example 40160) and an API secret key. Copy both and save them somewhere secure — the secret key is displayed only once.

Step 2 — Paste them into your connection link

1. Open the connection link we sent you.
2. On the Log in to Hostaway tab, paste your Account ID and API secret key.
3. Select Connect to Hostaway.

We validate the credentials directly with Hostaway. Once they clear you will see Connected ✓ and can close the page.

Step 3 — What happens next

• Your listings import automatically and refresh nightly.
• Availability and rates stay in sync, typically within a few minutes of any change in Hostaway.
• Confirmed Villa Tracker reservations are written back to Hostaway, so your calendar cannot double-book.

We never delete or unlist anything in your Hostaway account. You remain the source of truth throughout. Your API secret is validated with Hostaway and then stored encrypted; it is never displayed again, and you can revoke it at any time from Settings → Hostaway API in Hostaway.

Troubleshooting

“Connection failed” — check that the Account ID contains numbers only and that the secret key has no trailing spaces. If you did not copy the secret in time, generate a new Public API key and try again.

“This link has expired or is invalid” — connection links are single-use and time-limited. Email tech@smilinghouse.ch for a new one.

“I want to disconnect” — revoke the Public API key in Hostaway, or email tech@smilinghouse.ch and we will handle it.
