Link your Hostaway account to Villa Tracker. Once connected, your listings, calendars and reservations sync automatically — nothing to install, and you stay in full control of your inventory inside Hostaway.

Before you begin

An active Hostaway account with the listings you want to distribute through Villa Tracker.
The connection link VillaTracker emailed you (looks like https://dashboard.villatracker.com/connect/…). Don’t have it? Email tech@smilinghouse.ch for a fresh one.

Step 1 — How to get your API key
Sign in to Hostaway at dashboard.hostaway.com.
Go to Marketplace → Look for Smiling House
Click Connect → then Create to Generate The API key . Hostaway shows your Account ID (a number, e.g. 40160) and an API secret key. Copy both and save them securely as the key will be displayed only once.

Step 2 — Paste them into your Villa Tracker connection link
Open the connection link Villa Tracker sent you.
On the “Log in to Hostaway” tab, paste your Account ID and API secret key.
Click Connect to Hostaway.
We validate the credentials directly with Hostaway. When they check out you’ll see Connected ✓ — you can close the page.

Step 3 — What happens after you connect
Your listings import automatically and refresh nightly.
Calendar availability and rates stay in sync, typically within a few minutes of a change in Hostaway.
Confirmed reservations from Villa Tracker are written back to Hostaway so your calendar never double-books.
We never delete or unlist anything in your Hostaway account — you remain the source of truth.
Your credentials are safe — The API secret is validated with Hostaway and then stored encrypted. It is never shown again, and you can revoke it any time from Settings → Hostaway API in Hostaway.

Troubleshooting
“Connection failed” — check the Account ID is numbers only and the secret has no extra spaces. If you didn’t copy the secret in time, generate a new Public API key and retry.
“This link has expired / is invalid” — links are single-use and time-limited; email tech@smilinghouse.ch for a new one.
“I want to disconnect” — revoke the Public API key in Hostaway, or email tech@smilinghouse.ch.
