During the pandemic, five-star hotels became harder to reach and, for many travellers, less desirable. Travel agents, concierge companies and event planners came to our sister company, Smiling House, looking for something else entirely: a private house with a door that closed on the world. What they found was that a well-chosen villa could offer everything a grand hotel could — the service, the exclusivity, the sense of occasion — and something a hotel never can. Privacy. Space. The demand did not fade when travel returned. It grew.

So we founded Villa Tracker in 2022, and in 2024 launched the platform we had wanted all along: a working tool for the trade, giving travel professionals direct access to a curated collection of chalets, villas, estates and private homes worldwide.
